With the global market for medicinal mushrooms expected to skyrocket in the upcoming years, Aloha Medicinals is looking ahead to increasing industry demands and industry need for increased capacity. To do this, we’re moving into a larger, state-of-the-art facility in Carson City which has allowed us to continue our commitment to quality and sustainability. Aloha Medicinals has always prided itself on its sustainability practices and quality products. We are constantly reimagining the way we do things here at Aloha not only to improve our impact on the environment and community around us but also to show other businesses the importance of making sustainable choices.
Aloha Medicinals has recently partnered with EcoVadis to ensure our sustainability efforts are effective and to receive an evidence-based assessment of our green practices. To learn more about EcoVadis and its rating system, read below or click the link here.
What is the EcoVadis Rating?
EcoVadis assesses companies’ sustainability practices from a holistic perspective. The rating is based on a range of topics including environmental, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement impacts. According to their website, companies that partner with EcoVadis are “rated on the material issues as they pertain to their company’s size, location, and industry.”
Once EcoVadis has made its assessment, the results will be provided to the company via a scorecard. The scorecard displays a rating between 0 and 100, with 100 being the highest rating your business may receive. The scorecard also provides the company with specified guidance on the strengths and weaknesses of the company’s sustainability efforts so that they can create a corrective action plan for improved performance.
Aloha Medicinals’ EcoVadis Rating
Aloha Medicinals received a “Silver” rating for its sustainability practices and is currently in the 84th percentile. Out of the four categories, Aloha’s highest ranking was in Labor and Human Rights. The Labor and Human Rights category is based on an organization’s working environment as well as its employee policies. An exemplary company satisfies key working conditions for all employees and offers opportunities for growth.
A high score in the Labor & Human Rights EcoVadis rating scale indicates a business that provides a healthy balance between work and personal life. The ultimate goal is to create an environment where our employees can be safe, happy, healthy, and motivated to provide quality service and products while delivering environmentally friendly outcomes.
These results indicate a very high level of sustainability maturity which is ideal for business owners to achieve today. Obtaining such a high rating puts Aloha Medicinals in the mix of companies with exceptional sustainability practices and policies, ensuring their commitment to quality and the community.
